Síor Consulting Pty Ltd is looking for a technical Geological or Environmental Scientist Field Consultant, to assist in the development of hydrogeological, hydrological, and geotechnical projects.

Initially, works would be based out of Perth servicing the mining sector. However, Síor also services world-wide projects, which would become accessible with time to the correct candidate.

The offered role will encompass technical geological/hydrogeological/hydrological/geotechnical field data acquisition and water well drilling supervision duties. Your core set of responsibilities will include:

• Geophysical data acquisition (ERT, IP)
• Hydrogeological data acquisition (Aquifer testing, ad-hoc field data collection)
• Hydrological and geotechnical remotely sensed data validation (ad-hoc GPS and visual field data collection)
• Drilling supervision (production, dewatering, monitoring, and depressurisation)
• Collaborating with GIS analysts and coding developers (liaising with office staff to design near-real-time data collection and reporting methods)
• Liaising with on-site Client staff
• Reporting to Síor Senior Managers

Essential qualities:

• Clean manual WA driver’s licence (or licence from a transferable country)
• Willingness to learn
• Be willing and able to spend extended periods outside in the elements in challenging conditions (8:6, or 12:9 FIFO rosters)
• Must be highly proficient, confident and have excellent demonstrable experience and ability in the application of field technical skills.

Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential. Training can be provided, for the correct candidate.
