CrewSELECT are supporting one of our clients in their search for a Field Service Technician (Power Generation) to join their team.
Job Overview:
- This is principally an autonomous role, supported by the operations teams in Karratha and Perth. The candidates must be familiar with 415VAC, 3.3kV - 11kV generating plant and equipment, alternators and associated control systems.
- Experience in fault finding in generators as a package that includes the prime mover, alternator and control system on a range of different generators including, but not exclusively, Cummins, MTU, Volvo, CAT etc. is essential.
- Proven ability from prior experience in utilising, installing, programming and commissioning across a varied range of genset controllers would be an advantage but not essential.
- Applicants must have a customer focused approach to ensuring that communications with clients are always professional and maintain a high level of interaction and reporting to keep the client suitably informed.
- Knowledge of the Pilbara Region particularly for RTIO sites would be an advantage and the willingness to travel as individual project requirements dictate.
About the role:
- You will be working with a dedicated team of multi-disciplined technicians or working independently in the Pilbara.
- Working on generator sets and generator control panels.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics on generators.
- Modifying wiring looms/diagrams.
- Commissioning of new generator systems, transfer switches & fuel systems.
- Maintaining and servicing of all Power Generation machinery.
- Completing all work with a high focus on safety & reliability.

About you:
- An understanding of control systems (including PLC and relay logic).
- The ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Excellent team work and customer service skills.
- Previous experience maintaining and servicing generators - Essential.
- Previous experience in the Power Generation field - Highly regarded.
Tickets and Licenses required:
- Current driver’s license.
- Completed the Rio induction - Highly regarded.
- Hold a current WA electrical license.
- Police clearance within 12 months.
- Construction industry White Card.
- Hold a current LVR/CPR certificate.
