We are currently seeking a trade qualified Head Chef to work at our mining accommodation village at Reedy Creek, located approximately 1.5 hours from Miles, Queensland in the Surat Basin region. Here you will go above and beyond to ensure we deliver exceptional quality and service to our residents on one of our newest contracts.

This role is FIFO ex Brisbane or DIDO ex Toowoomba and surrounds on a 14/7 roster with 10 hour working days. Locals are encouraged to apply.

This position requires proven catering management experience within a high-volume environment. As an ESS Head Chef you will be required to be in charge to manage the catering team, monitor, and maintain quality / HACCP, ordering and ensure we deliver high quality catering and support services to our client. Your passion for exceptional customer service, genuine commitment to safety and strong people management skills are essential for you to succeed in this role.

The Position

Commitment and ability to drive a positive and sustainable safety culture
Previous Head Chef experience in a bulk cooking environment is preferred
Excellent people and communication skills
Food Safety Supervisor qualification preferred
HACCP knowledge and experience
Experience within a high-volume catering environment (+200 covers)
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to write and implement training and procedures
Strong IT skills proficient knowledge of ordering and stock control systems
First class leadership skills with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility of the team’s overall performance
The ability to drive the customer service policy to yield exceptional customer satisfaction

The Person

• Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
• Bulk Catering Experience
• Experience working in remote locations on roster arrangements (desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
• Experience in menu writing, rostering and cost control
• Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
