Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Business Partner to join our finance team. In this generalist role, you will work closely with the Finance Director and play a key part in supporting the financial health and strategic goals of Sirromet Wines. The ideal candidate will be adept at financial analysis, budgeting, internal controls, and Business Partnering to drive informed decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and set time frames.
- Conduct variance analysis to understand and explain the differences between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted figures.
- Identify key financial trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Ensure that budgets align with the strategic objectives of the company and are adhered to throughout the fiscal year.
- Provide ongoing financial forecasts and modeling to guide strategic and operational decision-making.
Business Partnering:
- Act as a financial advisor to department heads and senior management, providing insights and guidance on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate financial understanding across the organization by training and supporting non-financial managers on financial principles and performance metrics.
- Partner with operational teams to drive cost efficiencies and enhance profitability.
Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Assist the Director of Finance in developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's long-term goals.
- Support investment appraisals and business case development for capital projects and new initiatives.
- Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure the company maintains sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations and fund growth opportunities.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements, supporting financial audits and reviews.
- Develop and maintain robust financial policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Monitor compliance with relevant accounting standards and legislation.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and drive process improvements within the finance function to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Leverage technology and financial systems to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
Ad-hoc Projects and Initiatives:
- Assist in various ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required by the Director of Finance.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support business transformation and change management efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the wine, beverage, or hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
