AddressKNOW Hydraulic & Civil Contractors are looking at hiring an experienced individual for Payroll Officer/ Book Keeper for a busy office. With an immediate start.
Part- time to Full time
The Role
- End to end processing of fortnightly payroll for FIFO and Metro staff.
- On-going maintenance of payroll system.
- Updating and maintaining payroll records.
- Liaising with employees and management on payroll related queries.
- Maintaining leave, sickness, payroll, and overtime reports through XERO Payroll software.
- Interpreting awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime, shift allowances etc.
- Undertaking required reporting, both internal and statutory (where required).
- Payroll administration – setting up new employees, filing etc.
- Calculation and payment of termination payments.
- Processing salary and wage increases and calculation of back pays.
- Reconcile and calculate annual leave and LSL provisions/accruals.
- Monthly reconciliation, lodgment, and payment of payroll tax returns.
- Preparation and payment of monthly superannuation returns.
- Administration of Workers Compensation claims and maintenance of the relevant related records, such as Lost Time Injury, value of claims etc.
- Assist with administering and organizing of employee training courses.
- Other general office duties, including filing, answering phones, and assisting other members of the administration team
Skills Required
- You will have at least 5+ years’ experience operating in a similar position.
- Proven competency in payroll processing.
- Core competency in learning and using various financial software applications. Experience with MYOB and XERO payroll software package will be seen as an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent personal communication and presentation.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Office.
- Attention to detail with a strong work ethic.
