About the role
The Finance Business Partner reports to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis within the Pacific National Finance team. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing financial insights, analysis, and support to business units or departments within Pacific National. This role involves collaborating closely with the business to drive business performance, optimise resource allocation, and achieve strategic objectives. The Finance Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor, offering financial expertise and guidance to enable informed decision-making and drive sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct financial analysis to assess business performance, identify trends, and highlight areas of improvement.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support decision-making processes.
- Partner with business leaders to develop strategic plans and initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluation, and resource allocation.
- Develop financial models and scenarios to evaluate business opportunities, assess risks, and forecast future performance.
- Continuously refine and update financial forecasts based on changing business conditions and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, marketing, and human resources, to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organisation.
About you
In order to succeed in this role, you will need proven experience in finance, accounting, or related roles with a focus on financial analysis and Business Partnering. You will have completed your Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting. Business Administration, or related field. Although not essential, a CA or CPA certification would be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will also possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business results and adding value through financial acumen and Business Partnership.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
