Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.
The Finance Business Partner provides high-quality strategic financial guidance, leadership and insight for their operational business unit, interpreting business needs, challenging the business, delivering meaningful quantitative and qualitative information which will ensure the strategic path chosen will create value against an acceptable level of risk. Reporting through the Senior Manager Business Finance this position will be a key enabler for Power and Water Corporation (PWC) to achieve its core business objectives.
The successful candidate will need extensive experience in accounting within a commercial environment, high level business acumen with proven ability to strategically manage competing demands and priorities. Senior level leadership, advisory, analytical and collaborative skills with the ability to strategically interpret and manage the business and successfully communicate financial results to a wide range of stakeholders including Executive Leadership and various Internal and External Stakeholder groups.
The successful candidate will possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, to operate effectively in senior executive environments, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive successful teams to deliver financial services and to build a culture of engagement, continuous improvement and high performance.
Relevant experience in a utility or similar environment, along with post graduate qualifications in a related discipline complemented by Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant membership is highly desired.
