FINANCE MANAGERPosition DescriptionReports To: GENERAL MANAGERReports: NILDate Originated: 22/03/2024POSITION PURPOSEPrimary objectives of the Accounts Officer:1.Provide support to the Go West business in Financial Accounting, Taxation, Budgeting/Forecasting and Management Reporting2.Provide support to the Go West business by managing cashflow and undertaking BU analysis3.Ensure Go West's strategic and business objectives are met.Behavorial Key Performance IndicatorS (KPI's)behavioral Performance Measures1.LeadershipShow strong, effective leadership and support to direct reports ensuring team members receive continual feedback, development opportunities and mentoring as required.Direct Reports:Positively influence team morale and performance in both direct reports and wider teams through an effective 'lead by example' approach and steady demeanour evidenced in:

6.FlexibilityMaintain an approach and attitude in order to adapt to and work effectively in a variety of situations to achieve results.Evidence of positive attitude and ability to be flexible in role, if required, in order to achieve effective results or meet operational requirements7.RelationshipsUnderstand the importance of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver consistent results across the business.Evidence of relationship building ability with Suppliers/Contractors, Team Members and Clients.Positive 360-degree feedback.8.ComplianceEnsure all works comply with statutory Go West's and the Client's standards and procedures.Evidence of all works being in accordance with Go West's or Client's systems, standards, procedures and templates (depending on Client's requirements).All internal and external audits passed.9.Continuous ImprovementInvestigate new technologies and/or systems making recommendations to Go West in order to improve business operations and/or projects.Potential problems (white spaces) are identified and resolved before they become actual problems.ROLE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS1.Monitor and review regulatory and legislative changes in relation to financial complianceReview data accurately and successful audit results.2.Develop and establish procedures and systems to ensure best practice targets are achievedMaintain and develop accurate documents.3.Ensure all activities and tasks are carried out in accordance with legislative compliance and documented Go West policies and proceduresManage and oversee data accurately and successful audit results.4.Month end and year end Profit and Loss reconciliations.End of Month processing by required deadlines.5.Bank, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Collation of fringe benefits tax (FBT) documentation for reconciliation.Reconcile accurately and in a timely manner.6.Draft budgets along with the assistance of the management team and close monthly financial periodsAccurate data and collaborative approach to successful budget.7.Manage Company Asset Register.Successful mobilization and demobilization of assets in accordance with financial requirements.8.Journal postings and general ledger management.All postings completed by required deadlines.9.Oversee the collection of revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.Monies collected by agreed terms.10.Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts PayableEnsure accurate record keeping and maintain a positive culture.11.Liaise with Site Administrators to ensure that all documentation is accurate and received within deadlines.Ensure accurate record keeping and maintain a positive culture.12.Maintain financial software and security by following internal accounting controls.Procedures and policies followed.13.Work closely with the members of the Finance Department head office to meet monthly, quarterly and annual compliance obligations.Assist with the compilation of finance documents per the request of the Chief Financial Controller.14.Liaise with external auditors to facilitate financial audits through substantiation of financial transactions, reconciliations, and information as required.All audits successfully completed on time.HSE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS1.Actively participate in all relevant HSE initiatives and fully cooperate with the company so that the employer is able to carry out their duties under the relevant HSE acts and regulations and Go West's HSE requirements.

  • Obtain and use all appropriate personal protective (PPE) clothing and equipment whenever required
2.Identify and notify the Company and/or Supervisor of any potential issues or work-related tasks which may pose potential threats to the health, safety or well-being of themselves or others and reporting any incidents or potential incidents as soon as practicable.

3.Ensure familiarity with personal HSE legal obligations and the Go West's HSE policies, plans, procedures, rules, and related documentation.

selection criteriarELEVANT EXPERIENCE:EssentialDesirable
  • 3+ years' experience in Financial Accounting, Taxation, Budgeting/Forecasting and Management Reporting.
  • Strong Knowledge of financials and analysis
  • Experience in Transport related industry
tECHNICAL cOMPETENCIES & SKILLS:EssentialDesirable
  • Advanced PC software application skills including, MS Office suite, Charter Management System, Advanced knowledge of financial software i.e., MYOB AccountRight, MYOB EXO
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel software application skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and internal/external business partners.
  • Ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks from multiple sources.
  • Highly self-motivated and innovative with strong organisational skills.
  • Capability of working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Positive attitude with a total commitment to customer service with a particular focus on the concepts of internal and external customers.

  • Qualification in Accounting (tertiary)
