About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a new opportunity for a Finance ModernisationProcess Improvement Lead to join our finance team based at Flinders Street, Adelaide. This role reports to the Finance Manager – Finance Modernisation.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

The Finance ModernisationProcess Improvement Lead will work across the Finance systems and modernisation team to improve operational excellence and effectiveness across the Finance Function.

This role will be responsible for identifying optimisation opportunities and driving these through to delivery. Additionally it will be responsible for leveraging existing teams to lead business improvement

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the finance systems and modernisation team with product development across all phases; requirements gathering, development, functional testing and production release
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams as needed, ensuring the successful development, implementation and execution of the Finance Modernisation Roadmap and identified objectives
  • Develop finance function process maps, clearly identifying the system used and key roles.  This includes the identification of process owner, ‘pain points' and opportunities for improvement
  • Complete functional testing of products produced prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Prepare key artefacts needed to support effective engagement with stakeholders 
  • Develop and maintain robust internal reporting, ensuring activities are running in line with plan and any deviations are communicated in a timely manner
  • Ensure strong governance is maintained around document management.  This includes the development of a framework which can be used to track items, their status and key owners
  • Ensure all communication mediums are up to date and maintained

About YOU

  • A degree qualification in Finance/Accounting
  • A member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (Chartered Accountant), CPA Australia or CA (or working towards)
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement business requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are important to this role
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
