The role
The Solutions Architects should have a demonstrated history and expertise in developing and conveying a multi-dimensional architecture that achieves the agreed business outcomes with recommended technology solutions, as well as offering guidance on security controls and security management strategies.
The responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the business and technical requirements of smaller entities.
- Researching and identifying options for ERP technology uplifts.
- Collaborating with each smaller entity to:
- Propose options for ERP technology uplifts.
- Evaluate how these ERP technology uplift options align with business requirements, relevant IT architectures, and Commonwealth strategies, policies (including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and privacy frameworks), standards, and practices.
- Assess and evaluate the risks associated with legacy systems and their interdependencies.
- Working with each smaller entity to:
- Outline the process for implementing the ERP technology uplift, identifying requirements for security, privacy, and testing of ERP solutions.
- Document the planned operation and maintenance of the ERP technology uplift, including changes to services, processes, organisation, operating models, and technology.
- Document an ERP technology uplift implementation roadmap.
- Advising on suitable security frameworks in accordance with the PSPF and the Information Security Manual (ISM) for each smaller entity's ERP uplift solutions by:
- Identifying risks.
- Determining security principles to be applied during design and development to mitigate risk.
- Designing and justifying security management strategies.
- Drafting all solution architectural designs and the implementation process in each smaller entity's ERP uplift Implementation Plan.
Essential criteria:
- Demonstrates leadership in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to identify IT solutions that are fit for purpose.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and expertise in stakeholder engagement, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in evaluating security risks and devising solutions that comply with government security controls.
- Experience with new and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to meet and deliver on strict project deadlines.
- Actively contributes to fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in working with corporate services operating systems.
- Experience in working with corporate services infrastructure platforms.
- Experience in resolving complex ERP solution issues.
- Familiarity with, and knowledge of, ERP suppliers, partners, and competitors.
