What we are looking for:

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Finance team as Trainees. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience and a understanding of financial operations within Council. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to various facets of finance, and contribute to the overall success of the company.

We have 2 traineeships available as below:-

1. Working directly with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Purchasing teams.

2. Working with the Revenue and Property Rating team where you'll be part of a cross-functional team responsible for customer and rating/valuation database maintenance, levies and adjustments, pensioner concessions, direct debits, refunds, property searches, collection of overdue rates, and answering customer enquiries.

Funding Criteria:

These traineeships have been made available with the assistance of funding under the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work – First Start Program. The First Start Program primarily targets young Queensland school leavers and disadvantaged job seekers considered at risk of enduring prolonged periods of unemployment and accordingly, certain information is required from applicants to confirm eligibility for participation.

Who can apply?

  • Disadvantaged groups to be targeted include:
  • Young people (aged 15–24 years), including those in and transitioned from out-of-home care
  • Long-term unemployed job seekers
  • Mature-age job seekers (aged 45 years or older)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • People with disability
  • Displaced workers
  • Women re-entering the workforce
  • Veterans, ex-ADF personnel and their families.
