We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Accountant with extensive Logistics industry knowledge and accounting operation experience.

Objective of Position
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and subsidiary systems;
- Preparation of timely and accurate financial reports;
- Ensure Company asset values comply with Accounting standards, relevant legislation and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Month end journals as required and the review and analysis of monthly results of the business
- Balance sheet reconciliation management
- Engage with external advisers to manage the completion of financial statements and tax returns
- Assist Finance Manager in end of month reporting including the development of reports on key areas within the division (Maintenance, fuel, labour, capital, other).
- Provide assistance to the Finance Manager in managing the day to day financial performance of the business
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing forecasts, strategic plan and budget for the business.
- Commitment to the provision of a high level of customer focus to both internal and external customers.
- Develop a key understanding of current operational and financial systems
- Other duties as described by the Manager

To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised, meticulous, a great communicator, and ready to hit the ground running. You will require a strong focus on processes and systems, as well as financial acumen, including:
- CPA or CA qualified, relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting major) MBA
- Experience in small to medium sized, or family business
- Experience working within a multiple entity organisation
- 5+ year's experience in a full function accounting role
- Strong MS Excel skills (formulas, look ups, pivot tables)
- MYOB system exposure
- Demonstrated initiative within accounting or finance role
- Exposure to Transport, Logistics, industrial, distribution, or inventory-based business.
- Accountancy or Commerce degree qualified
- Strong technical knowledge and experience
- Ability to supervise and review the work of other accountants less technical than yourself
- Good eye for detail and a high level of quality control
- Strong Taxation knowledge
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Australia
- Ability to work in a busy team
- Have a drivers licence and reliable vehicle
