Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Financial Accountant to join our close-knit team on a 9 month Maternity Leave contract. This role is ideal for someone with a solid track record of accounting experience, who is organised, detail-oriented and a team player.
As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with other members of the Finance team as well as engaging with and providing support to other business functions. The successful candidate will have a can-do approach to work and possess excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in the month-end close procedures which will involve preparing and posting journals
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and GST reconciliations
- Manage CAPEX and our asset register
- Own the Accounts Payable function; paying suppliers on time and reconciling creditor statements
- Collate and manage employee expenses
- Produce monthly and quarterly management reports
- Assist with management of the fortnightly payroll process
- Work alongside the Accounts Receivable Officer and provide cover where necessary
- Assist with any audit requirements if required
What you bring
- Based in Australia with full working rights.
- Hold a relevant accounting qualification (CPA, CA, CIMA preferred)
- Strong grasp of accounting concepts and standards, with sound knowledge of FBT.
- Prior experience working with Pronto ERP is highly advantageous
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive team player with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and agile environment.
