The role is part of the Financial Control (FC) community of practice, with principal general accountabilities being:
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements of the legal entities.
- Implementation and monitoring of the Group’s accounting policies and internal control frameworks
- Integrity of the numbers by delivering accurate, reliable and timely financial information
- Driving Future of Finance simplification agenda, ensuring consistency with objectives and a focus on continuous improvement
- Embedding a robust governance culture
In particular, this role is responsible for:
Capital reporting process:
- Reconciliation and validation of finance data against risk data in relation to various product and financial assets (including off-balance sheet exposures) of the bank for capital reporting
- Support divisional CFO and CRO in the quarterly sign off of inputs to the capital and provisioning calculations, i.e., to highlight known variances and to work closely with country finance & risk team to investigate and resolve any unknown variances
Legal entity controllership:
- Supporting the International cost related accounting and reporting services to support the onshore finance control teams including the provision of accurate and timely financial information and ensuring that all processes and reporting obligations are adequately met
- Leading, managing and developing the sub teams responsible for providing these services
- Support the implementation and ownership of country agnostic centralised processes and controls within the cost and consolidation team
- Delivering a support model based on materiality of the legal entity, ensuring provision of accurate and timely financial information and that all processes and reporting obligations across the countries are adequately met
- Responsibility to maintain financial integrity and controls in Cost related hub processes
- Deliver end to end accountability for centralised country agnostic processes e.g. journals, recs etc.
- Develop process expertise but maintain flexibility across processes within Cost & Consolidation team
- Ensure quality at source by implementing process level controls
- For POC responsibilities:
- Responsible for review of holistic controllership activities e.g. analytical review prior to submission to onshore
- Coordinate across CoEs for end-to-end view of designated LoB and countries
- Attend monthly governance meetings with designated onshore teams
- Ensure adequate context retention within the team

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
- A Bachelors’ university degree and preferably a Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Professional experience in financial services roles (including product knowledge)
- Solid working knowledge of Financial Control within a financial services environment
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience in presenting finance matters, including issues and resolutions to stakeholders
