Finance Controller / Project Financial Specialist - Devops

One of Australia's pioneering Federal Government departments is looking to engage a skilled Finance Controller/Project Financial Specialist to provide accurate financial and resource information across an array set of projects to better inform the department. The successful Finance Controller/Project Financial Specialist will be offered a 12 monthcontract with a further 2 years of extensions and flexible work arrangements.

The successful Finance Controller/Project Financial Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Managing and reporting project expenses and billing, assisting the agency in achieving its outcomes by monitoring and reporting budget effectiveness over project lifecycles.
• Proficiently juggle budget, resource stock take and ensure budget allocation, forecasting and tracking is accurate and timely across projects.
• Managing program schedule and provide insights into effective delivery management, and its effect on delivery capacity
• Engage with stakeholders to elicit information and provide budget spend and forecast advice.

The successful Finance Controller/Project Financial Specialist will have experience in the following:

• Ability to analyse and interpret project financial data and develop financial models forecasting and budgeting to assist the executive with business decisions.
• Provide actionable insights, monitor spend trends and elicit accurate and contemporary information from project managers and delivery leads to prepare reports.
• Effective communications with non-financial staff, clients, or stakeholder including collaborating with internal Groups to streamline operations and financial processes
• Auditing and tracking resource capacity for programs and projects and managing financial systems and databases, ensuring data integrity
• Working knowledge and experience with DevOps, Jira, GitHub, Confluence and use of financial and resource systems such as TechOne, Aurion, SAP, Concur will be advantageous.
