Menzies is looking for an accomplished, talented, enthusiastic First Nations researcher to lead a program of research that aligns with Menzies’ scope of work.

The Role:

Menzies is committed to fostering First Nations leadership of research programs. To realise the vision described in our strategic plan, we are seeking an accomplished, talented, enthusiastic First Nations researcher to lead a program of research that aligns with Menzies’ scope of work.

The Principal Research Fellow will undertake research that prioritises co-design principles, responds to community priorities, effectively engages community members and builds capacity. The research should strive to achieve First Nations engagement at all levels of the research process, from participants through to project staff and academics.

About you:

As a highly motivated individual, you will already have previous experience in design and conduct of research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

You also have:

  • A research doctorate or equivalent qualifications and/or experience.
  • National &/or international recognition in research evidenced through leadership of relevant networks or conferences, receipt of awards etc.
  • A significant record of independent research achievements leading to high quality research outputs, success in attracting competitive grants and contract research funding, exceptional ability to sustain research collaborations and partnerships, and research demonstrating high impact on policy or practice.

Special Measures Recruitment

This is an identified position, available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only, consistent with Menzies People Plan and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Career Development Strategy.  

The benefits:

  • Generous leave provisions including 6 weeks annual leave.
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum and $2,650 meal and entertainment card tax free.
  • Options to increase Super to 14%.
