Youth, Family and Community Connections Inc. is a local Not-For-Profit Community Organisation providing a range of health and wellbeing services for young people, families and communities throughout the Northwest Coast and North of Tasmania.
We are seeking applications for the position of Fit For Work (FFW) Youth Coach, to work within our employment services team.
Based in Devonport, the program works with local Job Service agencies in the Devonport region to identify young jobseekers (aged between 16 and 25 years) who need additional supports to enter the workforce. The FFW Youth Coach works intensively with participants for 6 to 12 months to address health and wellbeing issues, build relationships and social connections and participate in soft employment skills training. The project aims to support participants to rebuild their health, confidence and lost social capital, so they are more likely to secure meaningful employment and become independent of welfare support.
The key activities of Fit For Work program include:
- Case management and case coordination to address a wide range of participant’s barriers to employment, education and training.
- Developing participant’s work readiness through soft skills training
- Providing networking opportunities for participants with local employers, community, police and other key stakeholders.
- Identification and coordination of opportunities for participants to engage with employers (e.g. through events, site tours or work experience opportunities).
The person we are looking for will be engaging and articulate, have a minimum Cert. IV in a relevant field and previous experience in supporting young people into employment, training and/or education.
YFCC is a child safe organisation. All applicants must provide a current Driver’s Licence, National Police check, Working with Vulnerable People Registration, Qualification records and current Referees. Applicants must also be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical.
For the successful applicant the remuneration package includes:
- Salary in accordance with of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 commencing at Level 4.
