About the role
- Be an effective member of a small team of mechanical (fitting) tradespersons responsible for the repair, installation, commissioning and testing of all mechanical trade related plant, equipment, services, and facilities within the Departments responsibility area.
- Assist other Hospital staff in the fulfilment of their duties.
- Assist the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Service Department become a best practice service provider.

- Sound experience in and extensive knowledge of the desired level of trade skills within work environments similar to that found in Health Facility engineering maintenance and installation service organisations.
- Proven ability to prioritise works, accomplish project timeframes and make responsible
- Proven experience in maintaining large chilled water air conditioning and control systems, sterilisation equipment, boilers, hospital beds trolleys, medical gases and all hospital systems and equipment.
- Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively both verbal and in writing with staff from all levels of various organisations.
- Proven ability to produce an effective work output in terms of both quality and quantity without direct supervision.
- Excellent knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, in particular Public Sector Guidelines, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination.
