- Fits, assembles, grinds and shapes metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, relevant drawings, and specifications
- Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
- Ability to use hand and power tools including welders, grinders and drills in a safe manner
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
- Welds, manipulates and fits metal parts to equipment and machinery
- Check the metal parts after fabrication and assembling for accuracy by using measuring instrument
- Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical bath
- Follow all relevant workplace health and safety guidelines
- At least a relevant AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
- Two years relevant full-time working experiences
- Organizational skills and time management
- Communication proficiency
- The proven track record for reliability and dependability
- A can-do attitude and sense of initiative.
