About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for the right individuals with the appropriate welding skills to join our expanding heavy vehicle construction, fit out and maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Panel Shop Manager this role is for a suitably qualified and experienced boilermaker with heavy vehicle, sheet metal experience. The ability to perform aluminum, tig and mig welding is essential for the role. Ideally we are looking for a person who has extensive industry experience with the ability to perform their work with minimal supervision.
You will be responsible for performing alterations, fit outs and repairs on company and client trucks and trailers, manufacturing heavy vehicle accessories and welding in an industrial environment.
Job Requirements
- Trade Qualified Boilermaker / welder essential;
- Aluminum tig and mig welding essential;
- Experience in stainless steel fabrication – vehicle accessory manufacturing highly regarded;
- Experience in construction welding with marking and setting out capabilities;
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings;
- Current motor vehicle licence;
- High Risk Work Licence (LF) preferrable;
Key Responsibilities include:
- Effectively repair and maintain stock and client trucks and trailers;
- Manufacture and welding of heavy vehicle parts and accessories;
- Working independently to resolve technical issues;
- Fault finding and trouble shooting; and
- Compiling and maintaining records for work performed.
