About the Role:
With newly awarded contracts commenced at Rolleston and Clermont mines in the Bowen Basin we are looking for motivated and experienced Fixed and Mobile Plant Fitters to join our growing business.
Reporting to the Maintenance and Asset Superintendent and working on an even time 7:7 roster after an initial training period you can choose to work at one specific site or as a field fitter across various sites in the Bowen Basin.
Your responsibilities will include managing site repairs, planning and conducting maintenance on all of AECI’s equipment and vehicles, including MPU’s, diagnosing errors of technical problems and determine appropriate solutions. Company supplied vehicle, accommodation and meals are provided on site.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Manage on site repairs and maintenance of all AECI’s equipment and vehicles, diagnosing errors of technical problems and determine appropriate solutions in accordance with AECI’s, Customer and legislative standard
- Ensuring that all statutory tests are identified, scheduled, conducted and recorded
- Ensuring that all the maintenance requirements of critical items are scheduled, conducted and recorded and that required parts are ordered as per AECI procurement policy
- Ensuring adherence to the Work, Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems
- Participating in mine site specific permits, risk assessments and Take 5s
- Maintaining regular communication with Customer and operations personnel to ensure resolution and follow-up
The Successful Applicant Will Possess:
- A qualification as a mechanic or electrician with at least 2 years relevant proven experience as Heavy Vehicle mechanic and a familiarity with mobile tools and applications
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
- Knowledge or an understanding of legislation relevant to the open cut mining environment is desirable
- Knowledge of pumping systems and major hazard facility mechanical systems
- Previous experience from working with explosives equipment, MPU’s and trucks is preferred
- A current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
- A valid Queensland driver’s licence, forklift licence and a heavy rigid licence
- Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Be a self-starter and appreciate working with a high level of autonomy
- A strong work ethic with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Excellent written and oral skills
