About our role:
Northern Star has fantastic opportunities for experienced Electrician's (including Leading Hands) to join us across our world-class operational sites - Jundee, Carosue Dam & Thunderbox. These opportunities are offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off permanent roster, day shift only with FIFO ex Perth
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of the maintenance team, providing an effective and responsive maintenance function to the production section.
- Completing preventative & breakdown maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or from Work Order instructions.
- Undertaking duties to assist other departments, trades or operations when available.
- Ensuring relevant environmental considerations are taken into account from work orders, particularly hydrocarbon management (oil spills etc.)
- Installing and setting up new electrical equipment as required from time to time.
- Develop and carry out HV switching programs and issue HV permits.
- Support the team in the maintenance of a safe and productive work environment by ensuring the development and implementation of safe work practices/procedures that meet statutory and company OHS&E requirements.
- Assist in the allocation of daily tasks for all the crew members when required (for Leading Hand)
- Contribute to the development of electrical procedures for task performed by the Electrical Team (for Leading Hand)
- Ensure the routine inspections are completed correctly and to the correct standard as directed by the Electrical Supervisor or delegate (for Leading Hand)
- Ensure the work orders completed daily have been closed out with the correct history put into the work order and all the required Work Request have been created identified in the day (for Leading Hand)
- Ensure all time confirmations are entered daily by all Electrical Team members daily (for Leading Hand)
Required skills and experience:
- Electrical Trade Qualification
- WA Electrical Licence
- Cert 3 Instrumentation or Higher - Desirable
- PLC (preferably Allen Bradley), Citect and field instrument experience - Desirable
- Experience with Pronto - Desirable
