SalaryDixon Quarry Group is a family-owned and operated sand and sandstone quarry in Maroota, spread across multiple sites and companies. Due to continued growth and internal progression, Dixon Quarry Group is looking for a Fitter Supervisor to join the team.
Job Summary:
As a Fitter, you will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall operational readiness of our fixed and mobile plant and equipment. Your expertise with pumps, screens, crushers and conveyor belts will be crucial in minimising downtime and enhancing productivity. This role requires a hands-on approach with a can do attitude.
The job is Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm with the option of extra overtime and Saturday work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
- Perform mechanical maintenance activities including breakdown, preventive, planned and unscheduled work as well as minor project work to achieve plant uptime.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimise plant performance and efficiency.
- Complete preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Regular communication to your manager on progress of jobs, upcoming work, training of team etc.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a fitter or mechanic with specific expertise in fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
- Flexibility with hours, including availability for emergency repairs and routine maintenance outside of normal working hours.
- Can work as a team player and also autonomously.
