MECHANICAL FITTERS (Fixed/Mobile plant)

The Role:

Austunnel is seeking a number of Mechanical Fitters with Fixed and/or Mobile Plant experience to join our team for work in Sydney. This is not a FIFO or DIDO role, local accommodation will be required. Austunnel offers competitive rates to work on major tunnelling projects.

We are seeking candidates with:

Essentials:

• Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification
• General Safety Induction Card (White Card)
• Fixed or Mobile Plant repairs and maintenance
• Minimum two years’ experience in the construction, mining, or tunnelling industries
• Excellent attitude, focus and understanding of working safely
• Availability to work night shift, rotating rosters and weekend rosters

Desired Skills and Experience:

Extensive assembly and maintenance of fixed plant in at least one of the following:

• Grout plant
• Slurry treatment plant
• Dewatering and cooling plant 
• Earthmoving plant
• Conveyors
• Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM)

Extensive assembly and maintenance of mobile plant in at least one of the following:

• Road headers
• Jumbos, Rock Bolters, Production Drills
• Earthmoving plant
• Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM)
   
• Safe Working at Heights (issued within 2 years)
• High Risk WP (over 11m)
