Fleet & Maintenance Manager
Permanent Full Time.
Salary from: $86,176.27 per annum plus superannuation & an operational Motor Vehicle under lease back arrangements.
(Salary package can be negoitiated based on skills, experience and qualifications)

Are you an experienced Leader with strong operational skills and a passion for maintaining top-notch mechanical assets? Join Wollongong City Council as our Fleet and Maintenance Manager. In this critical role, you'll be instrumental in managing and maintaining our diverse fleet of motor vehicles, heavy vehicles, plant, equipment, and fixed infrastructure assets, ensuring the efficient support of Council's varied operations.

As the Fleet and Maintenance Manager, you will:
- Lead and inspire a dedicated maintenance team, including a Workshop Scheduler, Plant & Vehicle Mechanics, a Fitter & Turner, and an Apprentice.
- Oversee the maintenance of Council's fleet, developing and implementing scheduled maintenance programs to maximise asset utilization.
- Manage reactive maintenance and breakdown responses, ensuring the seamless operation of Council's services.
- Implement strategic maintenance planning to enhance reliability, asset performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and adopt new technologies and maintenance strategies to align with Council's low carbon emission targets and industry standards.
- Manage contractor engagements, develop contract specifications, and ensure effective supervision and performance monitoring.

About you:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled leader with:
- Proven experience in the management and supervision of a large fleet and workshop operation.
- Strong mechanical maintenance expertise in line with the latest industry standards.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Effective communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and working under pressure.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
