Shell Energy Australia Pty Ltd (Shell Energy) is expanding its distributed energy offerings to support commercial & industrial (C&I) energy users in Australia. This allows Shell Energy’s customers to better manage their energy demand as Australia transitions to cleaner energy and with wholesale electricity prices settling on a 5-minute basis.
Based in Melbourne, the Flex Compliance Business Analyst will be joining Shell Energy’s dedicated Energy Solutions business unit and is responsible for managing all regulatory and compliance changes that impact Shell Energy’s day-to-day Flexible Demand operations, and planning for market participation in new Flex opportunities.
This first Line of Defence key role will also work closely with the broader Energy Solutions team to provide and understanding of how the regulatory changes will impact each of them and will put in place processes and changes to mitigate the impacts identified.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Identify and document all upcoming regulatory and compliance changes;
- Conduct analysis to understand and interpret regulatory requirements and their impacts to ESOL;
- Document all regulatory and compliance impacts to ESOL;
- Lead the representation of ESOL in Regulatory meetings;
- Draft and update compliance policies, working with legal and Regulatory Affairs to ensure that these adequately address compliance risks;
- Document all the business requirements in relation to regulatory and compliance impacts;
- Identify and assess the compliance risks and work with the ESOL team to decide on the risk mitigation response, including the appropriate controls and the consideration of the acceptance of risk (residual);
- Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to mitigate risk;
- Manage compliance change programs to ensure adherence to regulations and industry standards;
- Provide operational advice on the selection, design and implementation and operation of compliance controls, supporting the ESOL management;
- Identify systems development and operational changes in line with regulatory and compliance changes;
- Work with ESOL (Product Owner) and Head of Flex to priorities these initiatives;
- Support the delivery of priority systems changes with Product Owner, IT and System Development Leads; and
- Assist with rolling our Business Readiness change to ESOL.
