Fmcg Maintenance Fitter

DiRossi Foods is part of the Real Dairy Australia (RDA) Group, an Australian owned cheese processing and packaging business with locations in NSW and VIC. RDA is a world class supplier of dairy based products, services and solutions to the retail, foodservice and food ingredients markets.

Our site at Braeside processes and packages various cheese products using a range of machinery.  We have an opportunity for a trade qualified FMCG Maintenance Fitter or Electrician with mechanical aptitude who will be very hands on and provide a range of maintenance services at the site. Responsibilities will include working on breakdowns, planned and preventative maintenance, general maintenance as required and engage and supervise contractors undertaking specialised work on site. 

You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, understanding and meeting business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency. Working cross functionally with production, quality assurance and external suppliers/contractors is an inherent requirement of the role.

Key requirements:

The key to your success will be your ability to supervise external tradespeople and your experience across a high-risk manufacturing facility. Your attention to detail and problem-solving ability and a ‘can do’ attitude. 

Qualifications

1. Trade qualified eg: licenced electrician, mechanical fitter

Experience and Tasks

1. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the food industry in a high-speed packaging environment.
2. Ability to manage contractors, budgets and work orders, parts ordering, also good computer skills
3. Flexibility within very tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
4. Developing and implementing practical production orientated solutions to technical problems and leading process improvement investigations. 
5. Maintain equipment and the building while complying with mandatory regulations
6. Manage a preventive maintenance program
7. Understanding of the requirements of working in a food processing plant including GMPs and maintenance housekeeping.
