The Role:

As a Food Quality Technologist at Sanitarium Moorooka, you'll play a crucial role in the improvement and maintenance of our range of food products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Research & Development, Quality Assurance, and Production to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and nutritional value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure site is compliant to internal and external food processing standards
• Identify, control and report on food safety hazards (HACCP)
• Assess product on hold and make recommendations to Technical Manager for disposition.
• Provide technical knowledge and expertise to the wider production teams in a hands-on capacity. Work with stakeholders of all levels.
• Investigate and report on customer production and quality complaints.
• Deliver quality/technical training to production teams.
• Support quality systems by maintaining accurate documentation for product, materials and processes.
• Understand and develop document control processes and provide advice to document owners, authors and approvers.
• Conduct internal audits as planned and present audit reports to Management.
• Provide technical knowledge and expertise when trialing new processes, packaging or recipes. Design, conduct and report on experiments and factory trials.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Occasional working out of standard hours to support business needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in food product development within a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG industry.
• Strong attention to detail with proven experience in fault finding and problem solving.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a passion for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Understanding of Food Safety Standards.
• Experience in audits would be desirable.
