OzHarvest is a leading Food Rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change their behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.
About the role:
We are on the lookout for confident and friendly Food Rescue Drivers (we have a few roles to fill) who are passionate about the community and sustainability and willing to help OzHarvest on a casual basis. As a Food Rescue Driver, you will spend the workday in one of our bright yellow vans, collecting and redistributing good quality surplus food and delivering it to the various charities we serve around Sydney, with a smile and compassion.

Our vans and trucks require a car licence only (no truck licence needed). Our onboarding process includes training on our safety systems, Food Rescue processes, and buddy shifts to get you ready for solo drives. Our logistics team provides ongoing support in real time to help navigate each day’s Food Rescue run. The successful candidate will:
- Be able to safely navigate around Sydney and must hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence (auto car licence is fine)
- Be excited to foster relationships with people at your pick-up and drop-off locations, and educate and inspire behaviour change by talking about our work
- Be physically fit and be able to load and unload vibrant, nutritious food boxes (up to 15kg per box)
- Bring an energetic, proactive & friendly vibe to the team.
