De La Salle College Malvern, a distinguished Catholic College for boys in Years 5 – 12, has a rich history since its founding in 1912. We are currently seeking a Food Technology teacher commencing Term 2, 2024.
Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (VCEMEA).

Job description:
- Creating a child-safe environment for students.
- Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.
- Providing timely marking and feedback to student work.
- Developing and delivering programs that leverage technology to enhance learning.
- Setting and maintaining high expectations for student performance standards.
- Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.
- Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.
Skills/Experience required:
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Certificate IV in Food Handling is required.
- Certificate IV in VET Hospitality is required.
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
- Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
- An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.
- Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.
Special Requirements:
At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
