ARE YOU AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND MOTIVATED MECHANIC/DIESEL FITTER LOOKING FOR YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE?About the position:The Foreman Mechanical Services North position will be responsible for leading and supervising Council teams in the relevant work area of the Fleet & Logistics Branch. This position will ensure maintenance of heavy and light vehicles, plant and equipment complies with road safety standards and regulations and that workshop operations meet Work Health & Safety and Environmental Management principles.

• This is a permanent full-time position based at the Crows Nest Depot.
• $70,069.71-$75,434.70 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
• Plus, $6 per hour temporary retention allowance that will be paid on all hours worked
• 19 day working month.
• A Council vehicle will be provided for commuter work use to successful candidates who live within the Toowoomba Region.

How to be successful in this position:Mandatory Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the role:

• Minimum Certificate III Mechanic/Diesel Fitter from a recognised tertiary institution.
• WH&S Competency Card for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or a willingness to obtain this card before commencement.
• Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
• Experience as a Mechanic/Diesel Fitter working with a range of plant and equipment.

About the Fleet Workshop Team:The Fleet Workshop is a modern workshop facility that services and maintains Council assets ranging from small plant through to large earthmoving machinery.The Fleet Maintenance team ensure that our internal customers and external stakeholders receive excellent customer service to ensure Council assets maintain their operational requirements with limited interruption to the service they provide.The Fleet Maintenance Management section oversees the servicing and repair of all fleet assets in workshops located at Principal Depot, Greenmount, Pittsworth, Millmerran, Goombungee and Crows Nest as well as mobile service and repair units working from these workshops.
