AddressOur client, a leading supplier and on-site producer of quality poultry products is seeking an experience Forklift Operator for their Rendering Plant.
This is a casual but KEY position, with ongoing work & opportunity to go permanent with the company for the right candidate.
HOURS OF WORK
You must be able to work Monday to Friday early morning starts (4am – 5am) and work full 8 hour shifts - some Saturday work will be required.
THE ROLE
- Loading and unloading B-Double vehicles of offal products of the poultry
- Operating forklift to interchange and swap empty & full bins of product to assist the processing facility
- General yard maintenance, keeping the area you work in free of any obstacles to ensure safe operations
- Performing pre/post start up checks on machinery that is being operated & used before & after
This role isn't for the faint hearted, it is expected that you can work in environments that are dirty, have a strong smell with some exposure to blood and innards of poultry as well as outdoor weather conditions.
- Valid FORKLIFT LICENSE with at least 2 years' experience operating
- Availability to work hours required & start ASAP
- Have a hands-on approach to make decisions on your own and show initiative & maturity to work unmonitored.
- Can work at a relatively fast pace and facilitate the company's production requirements
- Knowledgeable on safe WHS practices
- Fit & healthy, no work restrictions, ability to do manual lifting
- Your own car & license/reliable transport
- No birds/pigs/chickens at home of residence
