FORMWORK CARPENTER / CONCRETER JOB SUMMARY:
Required to perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to: assembling, preparing and repairing a variety of formwork systems on commercial construction sites. Applicants will also be required to perform: forming, placing, finishing, protecting and repairing all concrete surfaces, according to specifications and drawings. Placing and tying reinforcement. Performing quality work at a productive rate with minimal supervision. Following company safety policies, showing up to job site on time and ready to work. Following instructions and working as a member of a team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be trade qualified in Carpentry (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Formworker on Commercial/Civil Construction projects.
- Previous experience as a Concreter on Commercial/Civil Construction projects.
- Proven experience laying all types of concrete
- Hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence (truck licence preferred but not necessary)
- Have own reliable transport to and from work
- Must possess a valid Construction OHS White or Red card
- National Criminal History Check (Essential)
- Right to work in Australia
- As this position is physically demanding you must be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol test.

- Operate Elevated Work Platforms Ticket (Advantageous)
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Ticket (Advantageous)

- Applicants MUST be prepared to wear long sleeves and pants at all times on our worksites
- Be prepared to work an average of 10 hours per day
- Be willing to work Saturdays, overtime and shift work as required
- Work location is project to project based
- Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements
- 3 months casual trial with potential fulltime position offered
- Understand the principles, techniques and methods involved in formwork
- Be able to handle and manage all formwork tasks independently and at a high standard
- Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications
- The ability to place, screed and finish concrete including knowledge in using trowel machine
- The capability to float and finish to a high standard
- Formwork and steel fixing experience
- Assist in construction of high quality formwork
- Reduce levels, set-out profiles and string-lines using laser level/dumpy
- Be willing and keen to do other tasks on site such as excavation/backfill and general site tasks
- Have a sound knowledge of the tools and equipment used, including how to maintain and care for them
- Keep a clean work site
- Be hard working and have good attention to detail
