Foundation Primary Teacher

Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Calling all passionate lower Primary teachers! Tradewind is excited to collaborate with a small Catholic Primary School in Wyndham Vale for a Term 3 start. Offering and opportunity to teach Foundation students beginning in Term 3 in a full time, ongoing position. A late Term 2 start for a full handover would also be offered. Work collaboratively within a small, supportive teaching team and fantastic leadership.Key duties:

• Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
• Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
• Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
• Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

• Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
• Demonstrate previous experience in teaching lower Primary in Australia
• Experience working with a Catholic school advantageous
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

Offering:

• Start teaching Term 3 in a full-time, position, with a 4 week hand over given towards the end of Term 2
• Working with Foundation students in a supportive, small, Foundation teaching team
• 1 month hand over within the classroom to get to know the students and processes
