Freight Checker / Yard Operator - Afternoon Shift

Bass Strait Transport is a niche independent freight forwarder, specialising in transport between mainland Australia and Tasmania.  We are also part of the De Bruyn’s Transport Group of Companies. 

Due to our ongoing growth, we are currently recruiting Freight Checker / Yard Operator to assist in the day-to-day yard operations.  

The successful applicants will need the following experiences, licences and personal characteristics:

• Current Car Licence and own transport to and from work (essential)
• Committed to Safety at work being a priority
• Adhering to all BST Policy & Procedures
• Positive Attitude willing to learn and undertake all tasks as directed
• Punctuality, Responsibility and Reliability
• High levels of Honesty and Truthfulness
• Strong, fit and healthy (ability to lift up to 20kgs)
• Can work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment

Job Description:

• Checking and labelling freight
• Consignment Notes
• Measuring Freights
• Assisting all staff when required
• Training will be provided to the successful candidate

Full time permanent position, Monday to Friday Afternoon Shift with an immediate start (some Saturday am work is available).
