This role is an on-site role. Due to the way we operate, a remote working role
cannot be offered.
THE ROLE:
Meticulous is your middle name and your morning mantra is efficiency. Whilst you understand the intricacies of the organisation's stock on hand, you also forecast for the future. You don’t accept anything other than a safety-first environment and the exciting thing is, you can do this whilst having FUN. Everything you handle and communicate is clear and concise. People do as you say - AND - as you do. You respect process and are diligent in your cross communication with suppliers and all stakeholders pre, during and post an event. Upskilling and leading a team onsite whilst instilling confidence comes as second nature.
The ability to work well under pressure is a given with this role. It's important to be able to meet deadlines, what was agreed and ensure that the event and its preparation take place as per the schedule. You ensure that everything is running like clockwork.
Core responsibilities and objectives
- OHS & Safety
- Event delivery and client management
- Working closely with the Events department to deliver events from 2 weeks out
- Booking of all venue staff; labour, cleaning, security, bar, venue mgmt etc
- Understanding floor plans and logistics between events and managing changeovers
- General site maintenance, presentation and upkeep
- Waste management
- Ensure site presentation is maintained at the agreed level
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are identified and rectified in a timely manner
- Stock control and ordering
- Ensuring alcohol is managed and ordered as required
- Monthly stocktake
- Additional stocktake as required to ensure levels of stock on hand are maintained for upcoming events
- Facilities, equipment and machinery maintenance
- Power, generator, forklift, scissor lift, scrubber, fuel cell, post mix, beer systems, POS, wifi, refrigeration system
- Managing servicing schedules for the above systems and machinery
- Ensuring equipment is in working order
- Basic troubleshooting of all above systems before engaging external service professionals
- Proficient knowledge of all venue systems and infrastructure
- Consumables management (diesel, gas, plastics, garnishes etc)
- Venue security including daily open and lock up of venue
- Management of HUB
- Labour schedules & task lists
- Ensuring efficient changeover between events
- Monthly & Quarterly financial reporting (reconciling COGS and opex)
- Always implementing cost and time efficiencies throughout any process or exercise in the department
About You:
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Proficient in computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities both on site and in the office.
- Ability to think and troubleshoot logically and in a time and cost efficient manner
- Strong leadership
- Leading by example and willing to ‘roll up your sleeves’
- Comfortable on the tools where no job is too small
- You bring your A game and energy to the office every day
Desirable but not mandatory:
- Event management & bar operations experience
- Experience with Monday.com software
- Forklift licence
