French Teacher

ABOUT THE ROLE

Barker College is currently seeking an experienced, innovative and effective Permanent Teacher of French at our Hornsby campus.

This will be a Permanent 1.0FTE Full-Time role commencing 22 July 2024 within a newly restructured Languages department. In line with our Strategic Plan to enhance a culture of academic excellence, Barker College has redesigned Languages into Classics and Modern Languages.

Barker offers an extensive and dynamic Languages program of Classics (Latin) & Indigenous (Darug) Languages and the Modern Languages of French, Chinese, Japanese from Year 7 to Year 12 Extension.   

Knowledge of best practice in contemporary teaching and learning approaches to Languages and a global outlook with a desire to equip young people with language and cultural competence along with both confidence and competence in the use of ICT in classroom teaching and learning are essential.

Candidates will be required to design and deliver exemplary learning sequences. They will contribute to the development of outstanding programs and contribute to the wider French program within the school. Candidates will also participate in ongoing Professional Learning opportunities.
