Responsibilities:
- Ordering: Source fresh fruits and vegetables from reliable suppliers while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and manage orders to ensure optimal freshness and minimize wastage.
- Visual Merchandising: Create visually appealing displays that showcase the freshness and variety of our produce, attracting customers and driving sales.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming shipments for quality and freshness, ensuring that only the best products reach our shelves.
- Customer Service: Provide expert advice to customers on selecting, storing, and preparing fruits and vegetables, creating a positive shopping experience & building relationships with our valued customers
- Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate a team of produce department staff to uphold our standards of excellence and deliver exceptional service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
- In-depth knowledge of different types of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal availability, storage requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team towards achieving common goals.
