Front End React Web Developer

Who we’re looking for:
The objective of the Front End React Web Developer is to work within our Internet Booking Engine team to customise the front end of our guest booking application on VA.com. The role involves developing front end solutions as directed by the product owners of the Internet Booking Engine Team using leading development practices and cutting-edge technologies, which will provide additional value to our guests and helps Virgin Australia to be Australia’s favourite airline.
The team works to develop front end technical digital solutions for our internet booking engine on Virgin Australia Website & Mobile App.
** This is a permanent role based in Brisbane or Sydney only.**
What you’ll be doing:
Ensuring all work is delivered on time and as promised
Delivering quality code that is robust and scalable
Ensure that all projects meet performance standards and comply with relevant safety standards
Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
Research development improvements and keep up to date with the best software practices
Engage as an active member of the team and the broader Department with an achievement orientated attitude that reflects
the vision, values and customer focus or Virgin Australia
You’ll be great in this role if you:
Extensive experience with rich JavaScript web application frameworks, such as React
Solid understanding of frontend technologies
Strong skills in core JavaScript and Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, Devops tools experience (Gitlab, Jira, Confluence)
Expertise designing, developing and implementing high performance web applications
Experience with agile development methodologies specifically SCRUM and working with responsive web designs and mobile web sites
