MCS is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design and build engaging and easy to use end user experiences for their client’s in-house system operations team and their customers. They need a strong team player who can work independently and provide technical leadership in a cooperative interdisciplinary environment.
The work will require the selection and implementation of the Full Stack environment and the development of APIs for industrial traffic tracking and reporting and real time control systems.
The position requires a strong background (5+ years) in designing user experiences and web-based UI development with common frameworks such as React and implementing RESTful and/or gRPC API services.
Position Overview:
As key member of the software development team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing software solutions for the clients’ cutting-edge products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in design and implementing UX, software design & architecture, API driven design and implementation as well as a passion for delivering innovative and high-quality software solutions.
Essential Requirements:
- Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residence.
- Based in the Canberra office and is unsuitable for remote workers.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
- A strong background (5+ years) in designing user experiences and web-based UI development with common frameworks such as React
- A strong background in implementing RESTful and/or gRPC API services
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript
- Excellent knowledge of API development with at least one of Java, C#, Python, Nodejs, Go, C++, C
- Prior experience working with databases including NoSQL and/or RDBMS
- A good understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP
- A good understanding of security concepts and their application to web-based UI and API development
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with other engineers and presenting your work
- Tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience in the field
