As we embark on the next phase of our journey, we are seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack Software Engineer primarily to drive the evolution of our web portal as well as play a key role in a comprehensive redevelopment initiative.
Position Overview:
With some very exciting opportunities for Helios on the horizon, we have a need for an experienced and passionate Full Stack Software Engineer, with a particular focus on server-side technologies, to play a major role in driving enhancements and improvements to our well-established and successful platform. As part of a small but growing team, you will have the opportunity to contribute key decisions regarding the future shape of our platform and software, as well as getting your hands dirty with code from day one!
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Ownership: Take ownership of the existing web codebase and undertake a comprehensive review of our existing web architecture and technology platform.
- Web Platform Migration: Make key, high-level recommendations regarding the design and implementation of the next generation of our web portal.
- System Redevelopment: Immerse yourself in the design, development, testing and deployment of a major redevelopment of our web code, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance.
- Pragmatism: Balance priorities between new developments, issue resolution, code improvements and the daily operations of our platform
- All-rounder: As a member of a small team you will also need to pitch in across a number of projects as required, so broad experience and a can-do, will-do approach is a must
Qualifications:
- Essential: extensive experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, demonstrating broad and deep expertise.
- Essential: proven experience in a broad range of server-side web frameworks. We are technology-agnostic going forward, so you will have a big say in our tech choices.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with large-scale Python development.
- Demonstrated experience with a range of relational database technologies, including design, implementation, and optimisation.
- Experience in cloud computing environments, preferably Azure.
- The ability to take ownership of a problem, and work both independently and collaboratively as required to drive it towards a solution.
Bonus points if you have any exposure to Drupal or similar CMS.
