Coal River Coaches & Bus Charter Tasmania's fleet now consists of vehicles & touring coaches ranging from 8 seats to 57 seats and employing 45+ local staff, comprising of strong, capable and experienced drivers, hostesses, reservations team, workshop mechanics and operations command.
We are still expanding the business as seen in the last six years branching out into general charter, building our range of transport and touring services to include transfers, conference transport, pre-and post conference tours, Travel Club tours and general charter multi-day and day tours throughout Tasmania.
We have a centralised Hobart depot from which we operate our range of businesses, which is fully equipped with onsite office, bathrooms, workshop & cleaning services as well as cooking or food options. We are members of Business Events Tasmania, Destinations Southern Tasmania, the Australian Tourism Export Council.
Qualifications & experience
- Public Vehicle Passenger license required (we can assist you to acquire this)
- Medium Rigid License required (we can assist you to acquire this). This is so you can drive a large bus (57 seats).
- Working with Vulnerable People Card (we can assist you to acquire this)
- Current National Police check (we can assist you to acquire this)
Tasks & responsibilities
- School Bus Runs - Extra Large Bus - 57 Seats. School bus run operations from Monday to Friday, both morning & afternoon.
- Outside of the bus school run in the morning & afternoon, schools now like to get out and about around Tasmania. These day excursions might be for a camp, learning class or swimming carnival. So the school runs are just the start of the day.
- Weekend Charter & Optional Extras. With such a vast range of smaller vehicles to 57 seaters, we work across a wide range of transport options. Like airport transfers, wedding transport, multi day tours, conference late night transfers and more. All of this work is available to the right candidate.
- Day to day cleaning & maintenance. We have a fully equipped depot with cleaning facilities and mechanic. Each bus driver is expected to keep their vehicle in a clean state, however the washing and upkeep of the bus is done by our professional team at the depot.
- With a wide range of holiday transport for some of the biggest travel companies in Tasmania and further afield, there are options for the right candidate to see Tasmania on multi day holidays across 3 - 10 days also.
