The Centre
This not-for-profit and community based centre located in Tempe is looking for a new Full-time Childcare Cook to join their team! Your role will be create delicious and nourishing meals with whole food ingredients for approximately 50 children per day, aged from 0-5 years. This role is working full-time between 8am-4pm or 7:30am-3:30pm (flexible) with an RDO every month!The centre is well established within the community and has created a lovely environment for both children and educators with large natural outdoor play spaces. They have supportive, welcoming staff and management. The centre is a 5 minute walk from Tempe station or ample parking can be found nearby. They are open from 7:30am - 6:00pm.
The role:
As the Childcare Cook of the service, you will be responsible to:
Create delicious and nourishing meals with whole food ingredients for approximately 50 children per day, aged from 0-5 years
Plan and manage the weekly menu and implement a variety of dishes, catering for any special dietary requirements and allergies
Looking after the Kitchen. Stocktake, cleaning, organising
Occasionally cater for events held at the service eg open days or concerts
Involvement in implementing sustainability within the service ie composting and recycling
Food safety - ensuring all food and nutrition policies and procedures are adhered to
Healthy and safety - ensuring all health and safety policies are adhered to

Supportive management
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have
Minimum food handling (food safety and hygiene) – preferred Food Safety Supervisor training.
Other qualifications are desirable e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Experience working with children or experience in a childcare setting (desirable)
Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
Strong knowledge of allergies and cooking methods to ensure no cross contamination
