Indian Curry Chef - Full Time
SALARY $73150 + SUPERANNUATION
Below are the main duties
• Plan, collect, organise food for menus.
• Plan menus, recipes and task sheets.
• Cook items on menus and specials as required.
• Prepare and use specialised kitchen equipment.
• Plan and organise efficient work sequences within time restraints.
• Communicate with other staff members in kitchen team and food service staff.
• Work cooperatively with other members of the kitchen team.
• Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene.
• Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout kitchen area.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Attend kitchen meetings with executive chef, to ensure continuous food quality and ongoing improvement.
• Assemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.
• Manage stock efficiently and prepare order sheets.
• Minimise food spoilage.
• Comply with all work-related policies and procedures.
• Responsible for day-to-day kitchen operation (Curry and Tandoor sections).
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Hands-on experience in Indian cuisine is preferred.
• Report to the Head Chef.
REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate for the position of a Chef in our restaurant needs to have 5 years or more working experience in an Indian five-star hotel or similar and should have worked in all sections of a North Indian Mughlai style kitchen. The candidate should be able to handle work pressure and have a good sense of food hygiene and food preparation.
• At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in the five star hotel or upmarket Indian restaurant in India or equivalent is required for this position.
• For candidates without the relevant qualifications, must have an experience in handling Indian Cuisine Culinary.
• Required Skill(s): Indian Cuisine Culinary
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods will be an advantage.
• Ability to work in a team
• Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Food/Beverage/Restaurant Service or equivalent
• Ability to work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task.
Languages preferred: Hindi, Punjabi, English
