In the Australasian region Smit Lamnalco owns or operates 42 vessels, covering the majority of east coast ports, as well as maintaining a significant presence in PNG.

Smit Lamnalco is seeking expressions of interest from qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Masters to join our growing fleet within our Weipa/AMRUN operations on a Full Time basis.

As an ASD Tug Master, you are responsible for the safe navigation and operation of the vessel and crew. You will: 

• Supervise crew members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures
• Maintain accurate records and maintenance reports.
• Adhere to all relevant maritime regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Participation in skills and competency training including the training of other crew members, and trainees

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, exceptional maritime knowledge, and a dedication to safety.

To be considered for this opportunity:

• The successful applicant(s) must hold a current AMSA Certificate of Competency, AMSA Medical and MSIC.

• The position(s) are FIFO in/out of Cairns or local/resident to Weipa. 

• Successful applicants will be required to satisfy a company pre-employment medical, client inductions and drug and alcohol screening.

• Where appropriate, training will be provided as part of your job.
