Fulltime Painter/Blaster

SMW Group is a proud Central Queensland provider of engineering, maintenance and service solutions to the Construction, Civil Mining and Defence Industry throughout Central Queensland.

We are now seeking experienced Painter and Blaster to join our expanding team for a maintenance contract working on a 7/7 roster out on site in the Bowen Basin QLD. Immediate start. All meals and Accommodation are covered for you whilst on site.

About the role:

• Surface preparation and painting of structures
• Working closely with various Tradespeople
• Ability to read and understand specifications.
• Organisation and preparedness to undertake assigned tasks.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with all relevant procedures

To be successful for the role:

MSM30216 - Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application.
Competency as a minimum of the following units:

MEM08011 - Prepare surfaces using solvents and/or mechanical means
MEM08012 - Prepare surfaces by abrasive blasting (basic)
MEM08014 - Apply protective coatings (basic)
MEM08016 - Control blast coating by-products, materials and emissions

Recommended units include:
MEM08013 - Prepare surfaces by abrasive blasting (advanced)
MEM08015 - Apply protective coatings (advanced)

• Hold a valid Standard 11 
• EWP 
• Work at Heights
• Confined Space and Gas Testing (desirable)
• Current Coal Board medical (desirable)
