The Robina Pavilion is one of the premier food and beverage venues on the Gold Coast. Voted “Best Pub on the Gold Coast”, it is the pre-eminent dining, entertainment, functions and gaming venue within Robina and the surrounding suburbs.
Currently the venue boasts a 180 seat Restaurant, Lounge and Sport's bars, 40 gaming machines, Liquor Barn and Drive Thru, a beautiful lakeside area ideal for functions & events, plus an outdoor deck all overlooking the water. All up our capacity tips the scales at 800 guests.
We are searching for a Functions & Events Organiser to join our current busy team. The successful applicant will have a dynamic personality, 3 years’ experience in supervising functions and Events, and have the ability to sell our venue as a destination for any event, no matter how big or small.
The role will be suited to someone who is positive, outgoing, creative, and wants a long-term career with the Robina Pavilion. You must have a driving passion and enthusiasm for creating a function or event that exceeds our customer’s expectations, and be confident assisting in the delivery of food and beverages where needed - all whilst maintaining a high level of service delivery.
This is a full-time position, and flexibility with working hours is essential as weekend, early morning and evening work is involved; as is the ability to perform manual handling and physically demanding work tasks like setting up for a function.
Requirements for this role:
· A strong passion for the events and hospitality industry, with over 2 years’ experience
· Relevant qualifications
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Experience in building event orders and coordinating with clients
· A calm nature and professional manner, with experience in conflict resolution
· Ability to work in a high energy team
· Able to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines
· Wonderful customer service skills and ability to prioritise follow up contact for emails and phone calls.
· A sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Publisher (IVVY, OpenTable and SwiftPos knowledge a definite advantage).
· Must be innovative and love to create new ideas and methods of new client recruitment and retainment
· Able to set and follow budgets for all events
· Must be disciplined and have great organisational skills
· Have the ability to quickly think on your feet and problem solve ‘on the go’
· Flexibility in working hours
· A Nationally Accredited RSA
· You must have your own transport for this location
Tasks & Duties:
· Booking and management of functions, engagement parties, weddings and all extraordinary events in between, setting tasks for team members.
· Coordinating and overseeing events from start, through to execution and conclusion while upholding company standards.
· Control of event, sequence of service, set up, break down, liaising with head chef and kitchen team, organising entertainers and theming suppliers on event days.
· Mentoring and supervising of other events staff
· Ensuring that an exceptional level of service and efficiency is always delivered, while maintaining a high standard of product quality and presentation
· Customer invoicing and follow up on payments and deposits.
· Regular reporting to Management
· Soliciting customer feedback following events.
