About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a motivated, reliable and customer focussed Future Students Officer, Future Students Recruitment. This position will contribute to strategy development and the implementation of an integrated student recruitment and conversion plan to achieve domestic commencement targets.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategy and Planning

  • Work co-operatively in a team to contribute to the development and implementation of a recruitment plan for the domestic undergraduate market to achieve recruitment targets.

  • Assist the Senior Manager by providing timely intelligence and researching trends and competitor activities to inform strategy.

  • Lead the development and execution of student recruitment initiatives, overseeing all facets of planning and project management under the guidance of the Senior Manager.

  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance standards, University policies and quality objectives when implementing recruitment initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work effectively to build and enhance relationships with channel partners (eg schools, institutions, industry, and government), segment influencers (eg parents and peers) and internal stakeholders to deliver recruitment initiatives.

  • Arrange regular training programs, information sessions and engagement programs for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist the Senior Manager to monitor outcomes and seek feedback from stakeholders to consider ways to improve outcomes.

Future Student Engagement

  • Work with stakeholders to deliver future student recruitment activities including, but are not limited to, in school presentations, information sessions, career markets and expos, campus experiences and other recruitment events.

  • Project manage all aspects of assigned recruitment initiatives as directed by the Senior Manager.

  • Represent the University at both online and face-to-face student recruitment events designed to attract qualified Future Students.

  • Provide accurate advice to prospective students about UQ programs and admissions information.

  • Provide support, training and clear briefing to student ambassadors as required.

Future Student Conversions

  • Work with stakeholders to deliver tactical and appropriate initiatives to achieve conversion across the segments of the domestic undergraduate market, including school leavers and non-school leavers.

  • Arrange logistics to ensure effective lead capture at recruitment events, further ensuring leads are effectively entered into an appropriate nurturing to support conversion.

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop activity and marketing briefs as required, and co-ordinate tailored marketing collateral (digital or print) for the domestic undergraduate market in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare briefing documents, reports and presentations as required.

  • Assist the Senior Manager to monitor and assess recruitment outcomes from initiatives and channel partners.

  • Utilise the dedicated technology to record, monitor and assess recruitment efforts.

  • Raise issues in a timely manner and work with the Senior Manager on solutions.

Other requirements

  • This role requires regular travel locally, regionally and interstate.

  • You must hold or be eligible for a Queensland Government Blue Card (working with children & young people).

  • You must hold a current and open driver’s license (unrestricted).

This is a Full-time,100% FTE, Continuing position, at HEW Level 6. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $86,371.95 - $92,658.90 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $101,055.18 - $108,410.91 per annum.

About You
  • Possession of a relevant degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Proven track record in contributing to recruitment plans and successfully executing initiatives, showcasing effective customer service and relationship management skills.

  • Extensive experience in providing market intelligence, conducting research, and collecting data to assess recruitment initiatives and shape future strategies.

  • Capability to adeptly develop and manage relationships with channel partners to achieve business goals.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing workloads and implementing recruitment initiatives, encompassing logistics coordination, budget preparation, and problem-solving to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.

  • Highly developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with a demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of workload.

  • Effective in both independent work and collaborative teamwork for achieving shared outcomes and results.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian secondary and higher education sector.
