The Role:
Each Domestic Competition Game Day needs an individual dedicated to the effective running of the competition to create an even playing field that reduces game conflict and increases player, member and spectator enjoyment.
What will a Game Day shift involve?
- Ensuring each competition event is managed according to competition by-laws
- Coordinating the referee roster and making adjustments to ensure the best possible experience for everyone
- Making sure games run smoothly and on time whilst managing behaviour of participants, officials and spectators with assistance of Duty Managers or CSOs on the day. Applicants with conflict management skills will be looked at favourably.
- Manage on-court incidents and sin bins, ensuring appropriate report forms are completed, submitted and followed up
- Attending training and other meetings to support collaboration and consistency of the Game Day Coordinator at the court. Yes, you will be paid for training time in addition to shifts.
We're searching for people who have a passion for community sport particularly basketball! Someone:
- Who likes the technical aspects of the game or wants to learn
- Who possesses natural people management skills and be confident when handling conflict
- Is a great problem solver who can think on the spot
- An active listener and clear communicator
- Highly organised with sound time management
- Current NSW Working With Children Check (E)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
This is a casual role based at Norths Basketball Stadium and external venues including North Sydney Boys High School, Redlands School, Willoughby Leisure Centre and Marie Bashir Sports Centre Mosman.
There are shifts across all 7-days of the week. If you are successful you can pick one or many depending on your own availability. The shifts we are looking to fill commencing late January 2024 include:
- Tuesday: 6.30pm – 11.15pm, Norths Stadium - 1 shift
- Friday: 4:00pm – 11.15pm, Norths Stadium - 2 shifts
- Saturday: 8:00am – 8:00pm, Norths Stadium - Multiple shifts
- Saturday: 11:30am - 2:00pm, North Sydney Boys High - 1 shift
- Saturday: 5:15pm – 7:30pm, North Sydney Boys High - 1 shift
- Saturday: 12:15pm – 9:45pm, Marie Bashir Sports Centre - 1 shift
- Saturday: 12:30pm – 7:00pm, Wiloughby Leisure Centre - 1 shift
- Sunday: 3.45pm – 7.30pm, Norths Stadium - 1 shift
