About the Opportunity
Based in Tara, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising labour, plant and materials allocated to worksites, as well as providing a high level of support to the Works Supervisor in undertaking a leading role whilst performing operational and maintenance tasks.
Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will:
- assist in maintaining efficient and effective day to day operations of construction and maintenance projects;
- assist in the advanced planning and organising of projects;
- organise and allocate tasks to ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes and budgets;
- assist in training, mentoring and developing staff within the gang;
- uphold ethical work standards for team members working within teams and on individual assignment;
- promote and apply safe work practices within the team; and
- be physically fit and enjoy manual labour.
About yourself
The successful applicant will:
- have a Certificate III in Civil Construction or be willing to complete this qualification;
- have a Construction Induction White Card; and
- be physically fit and enjoy manual labour.
It is highly desirable for the candidate to have:
- have verification of competency in the operation of various types of plant;
- Open ‘LR’ class drivers licence required or willingness to obtain; and
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Queensland Drivers Licence.
